Franz came home from Gilroy with a bee in his bonnet. He decided the shed needed to be coverted to a "man cave". I don't think he had any idea what it would really involve, but he is learning alot. We will share the cave, one side for art, one side for writing. The back wall and a portion of the rafters will be finished for storage. The sheet rock is up, taped and mudded. Electrical has been extended to the other side so we can each have outlets. The old broken glass is out, new window frames going in. New doors are half way there. All done by Franz with some help from a friend. We have not decided on flooring yet. I want checkerboard lino squares - like hunter green and gray. He is thinking stained plywood for easy and cheap.

Along with our shed we have had a massive order for blue books. We have really discontinued these because of the time involved, but we have one professor at California State University Northridge who has been so good about using them for classes, we make an exception for her. So after "shedding" during the day, it is book making at night! Not much painting get done right now. My space is all taken up, but I'm looking forward to having new space to work in this fall.
The girls are in Thousand Oaks visiting friends for a couple of days. We miss them! I feel like I just don't get enough time with them and then school starts on the 26th! All to fast.

I had no idea how handy Franz is! That looks like a fun project.
I think Franz and Jay will have to get together and debate about which is the more DIY guy...and who'se cheapest. I've got my money on Jay. I'd love to see what the blue books look like...could you post a pic?
very handy! I can't wait to see it.
We insulated and sheetrocked our garage 3 years ago...it has yet to be mudded/taped but what an unfun task! At least when you do it yourself you know where all the flaws are and won't have any surprises later on (and you save lots of $$ too!).
always so impressed with your tenacity for projects. can't wiat to see the finished space!
