Harvest Time

Last night MaCall and the other girls in her quartet were invited to attend a private concert at a home in Lake Arrowhead. It was pianist Eduardo Delgado from Argentina. Here she is with Mrs Bass (right) her quartet leader, and Susan (the quartet mom who does all the driving). She really enjoyed it.
Today was the big day. We harvested the HUGE pumpkin. We have several smaller ones still on the vine, but he is the Daddy of them all.
Here is some of our smaller crop. The two little gourds came up from seeds I had planted last year.
Here are some of our smaller sunflowers drying. We will not have a shortage of sunflower seeds. I love the huge sunflowers and will definitely do more next year.
This is our Daddy Sunflower. Look at the size of that seed head!

Franz did it! The interior of our "work room" is done. The back wall was my idea. We picked up several old doors at yard sales and created a wall to screen the storage at the back. I see pictures in my head then Franz has the job of figuring out how to do it! We also picked up this nice exterior door at a yard sale.

We are now on the hunt for some cool vintage door knobs. I like the brown swirly ones and black ones - are they glass or ceramic? For now the floor is just painted with a layer of kilz. I still want lino tiles in a checker board pattern. Well done Franz!

Your pumpkin photos make me so excited for halloween and fall stuff this year! Great job growing them - they turned out awesome.

I truly love the work room. It looks like it will be a great space! Want to come finish up the work we did on our garage, Franz?

I LOVE the doors, that looks so cool. and the very accomplished look of Franz as well. I am searching for hardware too, if I find anything that looks like you I'll let you know! and my dad doesn't have a web page, but send my some pics of what your after and I can tell you if he'll have it, he can get most anything, but you never know what he will have in stock. are you going to paint the doors a virety of awesome colors? so cool!

For now the doors will stay green - for Franz's office type look. I may do some antiquing to them though.

Congrats on the bountiful harvest! Sunflower seeds are my favorite. I'm even eating them now! The shed/studio looks awesome. When will it be ready for you guys to start using it?

As far as Franz goes, he will need to sort out wifi or a long cable from our computer to the shed. As far as I go I need to sort out a taboret and new lamp - my old one is not working. Aside from that we are good to go. When we get to flooring we can easily remove chair, desk, etc.

Way to go! I love your style.

The shed looks great, Franz! You are looking fantastic, by the way; good work on yourself, too!
Your pumpkins are incredible, very impressive. MaCall was fortunate to hear Delgado, he is quite a musician.

MaCall said he was very good, but the best part was watching his face. He kept putting his head back like he was going to sneeze.
