Better late than never. We did not get around to our usual grand gingerbread house this year, so when the girls found this kit on sale at Trader Joe's for 2.99 we thought, what the heck. It is cute and we can have it up till Valentines Day.
New Years Day we took a long walk at the LA Arboretum. It was lovely.
MaCall had a good lesson with Pavel this week. Here he talks to her about posture, relaxing her hand for better vibrato. She also had an appointment with the chiropractor. We are going to see if he can help with her allergies and Raynods disease - purple toes. It seems that babies who are born with the use of forceps can have all sorts of strange issues - from all the twisting and yanking on their spine. These issues are often dramatically improved with adjustments. We shall see...
Eloise has some make up classes for ballet to do this month so is going to try some hip hop. I taught an art project with her class on Friday - we were learning about Paul Klee - from Der Blau Reiter. It was fun.
Today we did yard clean up. Franz put a new layer of paint on the porch railing. The weather has been sunny and clear - windy and chilly. No snow in the forecast. That is okay with me. I have bulbs coming up already! We will need more water though.
So, off to read my book. It is a good one so far - Ghost Walk. It is a modern mystery that involves the past - particularly Newton and his quest in alchemy. The descriptions of Cambridge during the 17th century, the newly drained fens and Kings Lynn are all very interesting. I can really see it all.
Off to read!

WOW! Love the gingerbread house! For a second there I thought Pavel was teaching Christie!!! Even Cassie was fooled!! I hope the Chiropractor helps. I visit mine from time to time and it really helps me. I'll call today . I've been especially busy this week getting back to school but want to talk about Arrowbear.
Sounds like you have been busy. How are you feeling now that the Caffeine was taken out of your diet?
That is a really awesome picture of MaCall and Pavel-she looks just like me from that angle. How awesome is that?
Can you use water butts to collect your rain water? With all the snow you had you would be self-sufficient in water if you could store it! Underground tanks with pumps? Just a thought:)
love the pic with the gingerbread house!
hope you're all well. we need to plan a day to come and play up at your place!
I have been looking into water butts and they are very expensive. I tried putting a rubbish bin under a drain spout last year and it was over flowing within 15 minutes of our first storm and made a real flood near the house, so removed it. There are no reports of storms on the horizon, but I do want to sort something out!
The gingerbread house photo is really great. Seems like there are so many things we all want to do, but never the time to get them done. You already have bulbs coming up?!?!?! We can count on keeping the heat on here, with snow/ice/rain until at least the end of April, sometimes as late as early June. I'm so jealous!
