Okay, so the girls had another day off. This sun was out and it was a beautiful day, though drippy with melting snow. Eloise had a viola lesson with Mrs. Bass and then the quartet girls had their rehearsal. It was good to get out, though a bit precarious, trying to navigate the snow, slush, ice, stairs and slippery sidewalks in crutches. We also made it to the library where I had five books that had come in and were on hold - had been for some time but with snow and foot issues have not been able to get there.
Happily I learned that I had three out of three paintings accepted for a juried show in Redlands - with the Redland's Art Association. They had 380 submissions and accepted 120, so that is pretty good. I did something I never do, I looked up the juror. It turns out he was the curator for the Riverside Art Museum - recently moved on to another job. I had noticed in the past what sort of work he chose for exhibits and what sorts of things he gave prizes to - always more urban in style and theme - so went that way with my submissions. Sunday afternoon we will go to the reception. If you are in the area please join us in Redlands at 1.00 to 3.00
Okay, time to put the foot up. It just does not work to do that near the computer.

That's great! Which paintings made it?
Congratulations, Serena! That must feel great. Hope Sunday goes well for you.
That's great, Serena! How totally awesome!
It is a mini show - no larger than 14 inches in a frame - so did three of my dailies - Posse, Trip Home and Bryn Mawr Packing House (local citrus industry interest).
