Yes indeed I have broken my foot
So, last week I was doing yoga on the wii and while balancing on one leg lost my balance and landed wrong on my foot. It hurt all week, but I could walk on it so thought I just pulled something. Then Friday night I was helping Franz shovel snow and decided to make a snow angel for Eloise - who had been indoors for several days with a fever and sore throat. So I did it by the sliding door so she could watch. Upon trying to get up from the reclined position - and trying not to damage the angel- I put too much weight on the foot and it snapped - pain shooting through my foot. I knew then it was broken. I could not stand on it at all. Of course we were snowed in so we could not get me to a doctor till the next day, when we risked going down the mountain with our tyre chains on. There is a hospital up here, but I did not want to spend the copay to go to the hospital (and read online that it was very crowded with broken bones) so we went to an urgent care in Highland.
I have a Jones Fracture - or dancer break - on the outside of my foot. It is a clean break and is still slightly attached at one end of the bone, so if I am careful and do not finish the break it should heal smoothly. Tomorrow I phone the specialist (today is a holiday) and they will tell me how many weeks to wait before coming in for more x -rays. The doctor at the urgent care said probably 3 to 4 weeks.
40 seems to be a year of firsts. This is my first broken bone. I am not enjoying it and I really miss the wii! I know the little computer lady is wondering where I am and is disappointed in me. I think I might just sit on the game board so she knows I am alive...NO more Yoga trees for me though! My foot is much prettier than the one in the photo.
It is a blizzard today! They kept predicting rain, but we knew that did not add up with the predicted temperatures of below 25 F
That means no school tomorrow and possibly no school on Wednesday either. I predict our girls will be going to school an extra week at the end of the school year.
Okay, what to do today. Of course I have not been to the library to pick up the books that I had ordered - because of the earlier snows and broken foot. I want my books!
I suppose I will watch another episode of Lark Rise to Candleford on Youtube. I am on episode 8! It is very good!

Sounds awful!
Hope you feel better real soon!
Snow...rain...should be a dreary day!
Aww, poor you! That really sucks.
Ugh-sorry about your foot and the weather. We've sort of been housebound for a couple of days and Julio's mom is here. It kind of sucks because we haven't been able to do anything fun with her-sick kids, bad weather.
Oh, you poor poor thing...please be careful!
Serena!!! You poor thing! Hope you're able to get around and heal soon! Let's talk!
