What a week!
This past week was very long! I swear Franz does nothing but drive all day, here and there, transporting kids to school, practices, hip hop, down the mountain Honor Orchestra, me to my painting events. Somehow he still manages to get some work done.
We had mom and Steve here last week. That was interesting as Steve determined on getting to their condo in Arrowhead that he would never find his way back to our house unless we could point out a straight wide street to get him there. Nope, not on the mountain, so Franz had to go pick them up, but then Steve found he got car sick if he was not driving, so we ended up going to them - which was additional driving time etc. It was good to see them, but did wear me out. I managed to do the paint out with PAAR on Saturday, which involved a timed painting from 9 to 11.30 - subject the Riverside Art Museum in honor of it's 80th anniversary. I did very well, so I thought, but did not get any recognition from the judge - though did from many a passer by. The painting along with the Coffee Depot painting will be on display Thursday through some time in April - not sure of the date. I did manage to hobble down to the Mission Inn for lunch with Mom, Steve and his daughter Cindy. The mission has a beautiful courtyard, with fountain, red umbrellas and bougainvillea. After lunch I had to hang out in front of the museum where we showed our work till 4. By the time Franz and MaCall found me, my foot felt like it was going to explode and I had several times of feeling like passing out. Not good. I spent yesterday in a horizontal position with my book (Mary Barton by Elizabeth Gaskell) and a pre code movie (Night Nurse, with Barbara Stanwyck and Clark Gable). Today I had to deliver work to the museum, then came home and got back in the horizontal.
MaCall has Music Man practices every day this week, Honor Orchestra for both girls on Saturday. The performace for MM run the 12th through the 15th. Honor Orchestra is the same weekend - on the 14th - time to be announced. Too many things and not everything is on the calendar.
I am babbling. It is raining and I think I'll go back to my book.
Above are the courtyard at Mission Inn in Riverside and Mom having lunch. If ever in Riverside that is the place to go.
