Easter

Friday evening Lori, Mike and Cassie arrived. We enjoyed hanging out and watching North and South. Saturday we went down to Redlands to meet Heidi and Luke for dinner - though poor Luke, fine when they arrived, suddenly spiraled into fever and flu. We let them go home and took MaCall to the Stake church building to warm up for the Easter Cantata. We arrived later for the event. It was quite nice, one particular violin being the best part...

Yesterday we attended church, had an egg hunt, finished watching North and South, then had a lovely meal - if I do say so myself. I made the best green leaf, fennel, asparagus, orange salad. I cut the oil in the dressing by more than half and used an orange rice vinegar. Everyone loved it. I also made these fabulous French potatoes. Franz cooked the ham, which looked pretty good even if it was cooked pork flesh. For desert we had sorbet napoleons. I used fresh strawberries and both raspberry and lemon sorbet. Very tasty!

Episode three of Little Dorrit was still quite good. The director has done a wonderful job of portraying Dickens exaggerated characters. Worth a watch!
