This is a really good book. Perhaps it just suited my mood, but I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to a sequel. Yes, it does play on a similar idea to Harry Potter - family murdered, baby escapes and I'm sure there are other correlations, but instead of Hogwarts, Bod's safe place is the grave yard and all of it's inhabitants. These inhabitants span thousands of years and each have their own history to tell.
Aside from the good book I'm feeling rather pissy (this is becoming a habit) because I really need to start driving again - it has been since September. I am feeling better. I am more active. I want to be involved in my painting groups, want to get out and paint on location, but have to rely on others for rides. My painting ride, is ill and will not be available to go to paint outs for the next couple of months - even then she often wants to leave just as I'm getting started - another annoyance. Franz is not interested in driving to Riverside, or Joshua Tree or other such spots to sit and watch me paint (I make suggestions for hikes, picnics etc, but it does not work, besides, if the girls are there I will want to hike too). So, what is stopping me? The fact that to put me back on our insurance will raise our rates from $350 a term to $789. Does anyone else think that is rediculous?! All because I had one accident - was not even ticketed for it! It isn't like I killed anyone! This is with Geico and they are usually the cheapest. I am really angry.

OMGSH!!!My friend was reading this book in class! He said it was bueno.
We have Wawanesa...very reasonable, you should maybe get a quote. Darin has several tickets and I have a fender bender...worth a shot!
Glad you liked that book! Gaiman lives near here in Mpls, a transplant from the UK. Sorry to hear about this insurance issue, so I am with Heidi, it's worth shopping around; I doubt, with all this financial turmoil, that insurance companies will be reducing rates anytime soon, but getting some quotes may reveal a more reasonable policy somewhere. Hope something works out.
Isn't that book rad? I love how it's based on "The Jungle Book". Gaiman's a perfect spooky writer, and he just won the Newbury award for this one. You'd like "Coraline" too, I think.
I've been shopping around. They all vary by about five dollars. Basically I have to wait till next October to get the good driver discount put back on. When Franz puts me on it takes his discount off. So they tell us to just wait it out... I have not heard back from Heidi's company.
I'll have to check out that book. How long is a term? We pay about $1800 a year for AAA for two cars and two drivers-full coverage. Is that too much???
We are looking at $1600 a year for one car two drivers, so probably average.
Hey Serena, You can't use that word in an international blog. Especially for us sensitive Brits!! 'Fed-up' maybe, but not p...y ;)
Sorry, I'll try to use "in a foul mood" but that conjures up molting and I am not loosing feathers, just frustrated, angry, sometimes frightened, and often disappointed in my fellow man. I will clarify that I have not been drinking.
Ta! :)
