Painting in the mountains
I have spent a couple of mornings painting at the Heaps Peak Arboretum this week. It is about 15 minutes further up the mountain from us and has a really nice trail - maybe a little over a mile - with a variety of terrain and wild life. This little guy was crossing my path as I came lumbering along with my Radio Flyer. I admit I am not a fan of snakes, but with the sun shining on those bright colours I was very impressed. I did a little research and learned that he is a California Mountain King Snake - not venemous. Several other artists from PAAR (Plein Air Artists of Riverside) joined me on each day. It has been very enjoyable and I am happy with the work produced (which you can view on my daily painting blog).

I love the pictures of your scenery...beautiful! And I think you should paint a picture of the picture of your easel and wagon of supplies. very very cute. The picture of the snake though I prefer not to look at...nightmares!
gorgeous. so happy your out and about in that beautiful place!
hey, would you email me heidi's new weaddress - I have lost track of her! thanks.
Sounds great - I like the idea of painting the wagon and easel and supplies! I love the picture of the snake. Though Sven wouldn't...he still wakes up every morning to tell me "I can't see the snake".
