Living in Paradise
Well, we don't actually live in paradise, but we are making our home a uniquely Potter place. While it is certainly no France, we are making the best of our cottage. Today I had the opportunity to take up the brick path I have been laying and reset it in a new design, more conducive to a winding path. Surprising it looks wonderful and uses less brick. Right On! In other news (seriously slow news day here clearly) the girls took Hamish (bunny) outside to change his box and eat our lawn. The lawn, by the way, is growing marvelously in most places which means I now need to figure out how to cut it. Seriously, the lawn is not worth a lawn mower, but perhaps a weed eater would do the trick. Anyhow, after lounging in the sun for several hours, swinging on the tree the girls, Hamish, Serena and I came hungry for dinner. We have one fast Mexican food joint on the mountain, Alberto's, so off we dashed. We grabbed our food and went to a picnic stop on the rim to see if we could see this fire supposedly in the foothills (no sign). Moments into our delicious food MaCall noticed a bee (wasp, yellow jacket, hornet...whatever) hovering...then two, eight, twenty...full of fear (and a slight buzzing sensation in my ear) we ran for the car with the swarm of bees in tow. Screams and giggles erupted as I fumbled for my keys and eventually opened the doors. Once safely there, Serena proposed we eat there, but the girls and I had enough and we drove home. Well, enjoy the pictures below and remember we welcome all visitors here and we promise no bees near our cottage!

okay, the bee story reminds me of about 15 years ago and you were mowing the lawn at our San Marcos house and ran in the house SCREAMING (and swearing). We weren't sure what was wrong so we called 911 and then you screamed at us to hang up, so we did, that happened repeatedly about 3 times. Of course they ended up coming and found out that a bee had entered your ear and stung your eardrum all over. Do you remember that? Silly question, how could you not? Aahhh, Franz and wild life, always a good time!
Love the Bee story! Path looks great - hope to see it in person and meet the bunny soon. How soon remains to be seen, but soon!
That is one experience that will haunt me forever. My heart rate dramatically increases when a bee gets anywhere near me.
