Chocolate supposed to help CFS/ ME

Franz found an article on the BBC website tonight about a study on Extra Dark Chocolate and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - known as ME in the UK. They found that 15g of dark chocolate - 85% cacao - three times a day, helped decrease muscle pain, increase energy and improve sleep and brain function. Well, this is one medication I'm willing to try. Oh and none of the participants gained any weight.

We had a busy weekend. Friday I trained for the Meet the Masters program at Eloise's school. Once a month they will attend an assembly on an artist and later that week have an art project in the classroom - inspired by that artist. I'll be helping with the project part. It is a really neet program and I'm impressed with their choice of artists - a broad selection from Klimt to Warhol to Norman Rockwell - where they will learn how to set up a magazine cover to send to the printer - as Rockwell would have had to do.

Saturday we went to a gathering of Franz's co English dept. profs. It was held at a lovely home in Carlsbad. The back yard was like a tropical resort, with pool, tiki huts and carved creations. The plants were amazing. The girls had a great time swimming and the owners sent me home with a choice of gords from their garden. I love gords. Anyhow, all the academics seemed really nice and rather down to earth. It was nice to meet some of Franz's co workers after two years with the University. Hopfully we will arrange more opportunities to get together.

On the way home we stopped in Menifee and had mexican food with Heidi and the kids, minus Hunter and Darrin who were in Tahoe. Our new blog design is thanks to Heidi - who took only five minutes to click click and there it was!

Today I remained in bed reading as I suspected I would after two busy days. How I would like to be normal. MaCall and Eloise have stuffy noses and Franz is playing with an x box removed from Heidi's house. Hm.

The car will have to go to the doctor tomorrow as it is still not liking damp and today made a new squeeling noise. Not nice. We just need to arrange a time to take it in when no one has anywhere to go. Hm when is that?

I have completed a portrait of Luke and an angel - both on my website - www.zittaw.com/gallery.htm

Will upload weekend photos tomorrow. Off to read more of my English mystery. Escape....

Hmmm...dark chocolate, sounds familiar. The stuff we have I remember now has that same cacao. We'll have to look into it more. Great to see you guys, ALL the portraits are AWESOME. Love them. Look forward to Oct. 31st.
Trick or treat sacks and good food!

how lucky for you, I hope chocolate is the cure all! And I wish I could join you reading in bed. Love the portraits of those cute Jackman kids, I hope we get to meet Heidi when we come to visit in November. So looking forward to a real vacation after the last couple of weeks!
