Hey, has anyone out there removed the spark plugs from a VW Jetta? Franz has managed to replace the rotar and cap but can't get the plugs out or figure out how to get to the two under the thingy that I think is an intake manifold... Suggestions?
It would be unusual for the plugs to be under the intake manafold. I empathize with the difficulty of getting old plugs out, if they have not been changed in a long time it can be REALLY hard. put a length of pip over the end of the socket wrench to increase leverage. Also there are some plugs that do not come out. I believe the Titanium brands can settle in permenantly. WD-40
gee that sounds fun. Franz took it into a garage today and told the guy our problem and his response was I don't know anything about VW's but sounds like it could need a tune up. Ya, I'm feeling confident in him. We will go someplace else, though Franz may try again to get the plugs out. We were in cloud this morning, temp dropped, car was not happy.
