Before the crash I had planned on putting up these pictures. Fall is really beautiful here. I love it. Everything feels so clean. Even the mountain folks with their perpetual yard sales have packed up for the winter. There is a tidyness that has come over the mountain. Here are the cloud fingers reaching toward Lake Gregory. We watch them come in from our front porch.

MaCall and I are doing okay. We are both a little head achy, though the neck pain is letting up some. We have decided that perhaps one of the blessings of this accident is that we have had a chance to see how wonderful the people in our church can be and of course friends and family. We have had so many people phone or e-mail to see if they can help with rides, food etc. Last night a family surprised us by showing up with a car and handed us the keys. They said we could use it till we get a new one sorted. Wow, how nice. They even washed it first! Inside and out! There are good people in this world.
Franz went down to the lot today and emptied the Jetta of our left over possessions. The claims adjustor found Franz's phone somewhere in the car so we got that back. The man who owns the lot said it is rare to find a VW that crunched up, that they are a sturdy car so this was a bad wreck. I feel again we were lucky to be in a sturdy car. I know we can't afford to be too picky in what we get next, but I do want a car that has a heavy sound when I shut the door.
Now we wait for the insurance to let us know what they will give us for the car. I am prepared to argue. I think they all start with a low ball offer. Anyone have a brilliant car they want to sell for cheap?

we should plan a day to come up and take some pictures of the kids together! The scenery is too beautiful to pass up!
