Crazy Place!

This morning we made the trek down the mountain to Stake Conference. It was crazy! The wind was blowing so hard that we were pummelled by flying branches, rocks, tumble weeds and trash. MaCall left an hour earlier with another family - for choir practice. On the way down they saw a motorcyclist hit by a large rock and smashed into the mountain on the opposite side of the road. On the way back up we saw another motorcyclist that was smashed on the side of the road. San Bernardino looked like this (see above photo). There were palm fronds and entire palm trees blowing across the roads. On the way to church a woman in a Rav decided to plough into us, fortunately Franz got us out of the way. For my first time down since the accident, it was not relaxing. I still need to get into the shower to get the sand out of my teeth and hair. I wiped mud off of my face when getting into the car!
This is how lovely it looked at our house when we got home. Windy but nice.
Here is MaCall modeling my latest creation - a cloche. I picked up a book on crochet at the library and decided to learn how to read a pattern. Not bad for a first try. Could not paint this week - just could not settle to it. Counting stitches takes your mind off of things.
I also want to add that Farmers Insurance sucks. Tomorrow will be a week since the accident and they are still passing us from one adjuster to another, each one saying that we will have our offer in 48 hours. That was several 48 hours ago. I will hand it to Geico. When we had our crash in New Hampshire the adjuster that saw the car is the same one who made the offer and handed me a cheque. Handed me. I wonder if Farmers will actually HAND me the cheque or just stick it in a slow mail?

Cute hat!

I hope the insurance gets its act together.

I love the hat. Are you taking orders? How scary this wind is. We were at a baptism with no cell phone service and had an upset Hunter at home with the house shaking and banging. I still love Fall though! As for that cute wallpaper I have NO idea how to paste into a template. I will search for another way...

I adore that hat, the ribbon detail is darling! so are you giving lessons, or maybe I can add to Heidi's order? Seeing you ins only weeks away, less than three. Hope the winds settle before we get there.

We have Gieco and they handled our acccident very well. For only having liability insurance, they took care of his.

I wish we could come see your house. It looks so cute!

Whoops...I meant to say, "They took care of us." Sorry.
