Evacuation 2007

Well, this week was just a capstone on a pretty bad month...First the car accident, then the evacuation. While we have already described the joys of evacuation, we now have the pictures to somewhat document it. Granted, taking pictures was not high on the list, but we have a few pictures as permanent reminder.

First, the loaner car. Without the generosity of the Smithsons we would have truly been in trouble. They loaned us their Kia Sportage which is here shown packed to the rafters with all our possessions, important documents, the cat, a rabbit and 6 guppies.
Whilst at Heidi's house Eloise purchased a wig...her new fetish...which is really quite cute!
While at Heidi's we had three large fires burning around us. This picture is taken in the afternoon when the sky suddenly darkened.
MaCall, shown here grinning, thoroughly enjoyed the stay with her cousins. Both MaCall and Eloise were highly disappointed when the evacuation order was lifted.
Enjoying graham crackers and milk with MaCall and Dylan.
We would like to again express our thanks and gratitude to Heidi, Darin, Hunter, Delaney, Dylan and Luke for their hospitality. We love and miss you!

Now to top the month off my toothache has been horrid and I know a root canal is just days away! Whilst I love October and Halloween, this particular month has really sucked!

we loved having you guys at our house. I'm sorry it had to end--but I guess life does have to go on doesn't it? We are looking forward to Halloween when you'll be back. Hey, November should be better for you, it just has to be--I'm not sure it could be worse than October.

And there are my girls! Great pics altogether.

Oh, and do you guys want to be in the Chronicle? Because I mentioned that you got evacuated, and they're doing a story on the fires, and so now the editor wants to get your contact info. Is it all right if I give it to them?

Hey guys,
We were really bummed to hear about all of your troubles, but are happy to see (based on your latest comment on our blog) that you are still able to see the bright side. And we're really happy that you are safe. We can't lend a physical hand, but if there's anything we can do, let us know.
