The
Franke's joined us for the ringing in of 2008. Christie and Cassie slept on a blow up
mattress in the girls' room, Lori and Martin on the Futon. It was cozy and fun, though the
Franke's were not adapted to our colder nights and ended up buying hot water bottles for the second night.

New Years Eve Lori and Martin went out to eat in Lake Arrowhead while we took all of the girls to our friends the
Washburns - for a rip roaring party. We all arrived back at our house in time to make our traditional news paper hats, watch The Twilight Zone and sing
Auld Lang Sign.

Above is Eloise's first Lego House. She has many more in her I am sure. New Years day we all went down to Heidi and Darin's for soup, bread and socialising. Later we went to Cold Stone for
ice cream (
ie. Lori and Heidi at top).
2008 is here. There was no stopping it, ready or not. For some reason I am feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of this coming year. Too many activities for the girls, too many bills to pay, too many trips to take, just too much. I just want to be snowed in and enjoy the quiet. This is probably just a result of my usual fatigue. Perhaps a few naps will help. I may get my wish about being snowed in. Storms are coming.
Happy New Year!

we had a fun time with all of you yesterday. we look forward to some snow so we can come and get some good sledding in.
things will smooth out for you--I just know this year will be a good one for all of us.
What trips do you plan on taking? What are your plans for the year?
Franz and I have a conference in New Orleans next month. Eloise has a school trip to the Grand Canyon in May and then MaCall has a violin trip with Grammy to Hungary,Slovakia,Austria and Germany the end of July - I will be her shaperone. We are hoping Eloise and Franz can meet us there but that is hoping. MaCall is getting a scholarship from the Arrowhead Arts Association. She will play for them at their meeting this month.
