Another Snow day! It took Franz several hours to dig out yesterday, but we made it down the mountain safley and on our way to Newport Beach. How strange to be inundated with snow then only ten minutes later be completely out of it. I guess we have the best of both worlds.
Grand Dad Jim turned 85 yesterday so we met Franz's mom and sister Heidi at the house in Costa Mesa for some celebrating. I think Jim really appreciated the fuss - singing, violin playing and food. Other cousins were there. Aunt Shauna made a great dinner.
We also enjoyed some time at the beach and shopping.
Later we went by Craig and Carley's house for a short visit. They have a lovely place and Eloise was very jealous of Elliott's plastic food and the banana tree out back. MaCall was most impressed with the many beautiful bathrooms.
Sunday after waking to the big storm and finding our power had been out all night, my feet were cold. My Target slippers had developed a flat, so I decided to make my own. After all we were snow bound and stuck with superbowl all afternoon. There is a very easy pattern for these on.... http://crochetcurbsidecouture.blogspot.com/2005/01/crochet-mary-jane-slippers.html
Franz and I have put in our votes - fullfilled our civic duty. Now we wait and see...

I voted.
Yesterday was fun. I wish we could have stayed longer.
I did not vote-I'm registered Republican and I don't like any of the Republican candidates. Also, I've been so sick lately, I can hardly get up and do anything except take care of kids. Ugh
me too, since nic was sick, i did not vote, im registered Green, though Ralph Nader won the primary!
