I was right! Cranford is filmed in Lacock. Also where they filmed Sense and Sensibility (with Colin Firth) and Harry Potter. Yum. Love this stuff!
So, question on the Transmission: have any of you used places like AAMCO -where they rebuild them? Is it cheaper, are they any good? Our mechanic is having a difficult time finding the part.

My dad works with transmissions and other car parts, he wants to know the model, the year, and the transmission details, how many sifts or speeds. We have decided to take it down the mountain to Aamco tomorrow. A diesel mechanic in our ward looked at it and said, get it right in, don't drive any more than you have to. Not good.
