Okay, today is the big day. Eloise woke up, brought her gifts onto our bed - sort of like Christmas - and hunkered down to opening. She had suffered such a long wait, counting down the days for a month. It is difficult having your birthday at the end. I will say I have not seen quite so much excitement since she opened her little tyke piano with the big colorful keys on her second birthday - we were in Scotland with Nick and Annette. She shook with excitement. Anyhow, she loved the dress and other clothes from grandma Shirley. She loved the baby doll from Mom and Dad and from Grandma. The ipod from Clancy and Megan was a huge hit! The book from Nick and Annette looks promising too. She received a darling home made card from Jeni and Jake - actually arrived on her birthday, complete with joke inside! A friend brought by a cool glow in the dark puzzle and Julia gave her a plush seal - just what her bed needs - another stuffed animal. The miniature golf went okay, but was so hot we did not last long. Instead we bought frozen yogurt, then came home. She and Julia are eating dinner on the floor - picnic style and watching the Apple Dumpling Gang. Franz had to pull teeth to get them to watch it, and what do you know, they are hooked. Later we will make pulled taffy and have our cake and ice cream. Of course we have to watch So You Think You can Dance.

Looks like a fun birthday! I've got a present for Eloise, too, but she'll have to wait until you guys come up to Gilroy next week. Hee!
Beautiful cake! Sounds like a fun day, except for the heat...I don't enjoy being hot and sticky either.
Happy Birthday Eloise! Craig and I will never forget your birthday because your dad barely made it to our wedding on account of your birth! We wanted to wish you a happy birthday! Way to stock up on the gifts!
Ohhh that's right....it was a close one...I could only encourage Serena so much, but I am glad I had a lot to celebrate this week. Ten years...well done you two!
Wow! What a cake! I'm soooo impressed.
