Well, after bidding farewell to MaCall, Franz, Eloise, Lucy and I hit the road again - for the long drive south. The drive back will be all too soon, though of course we can't wait to hear about MaCall's trip. She should be in Budapest right now. They are eight hours ahead so I figure she is getting read to tour the city.
We enjoyed our time in Gilroy. The violin group had two concerts. Lori and the girls saw Mama Mia twice - finally convincing Franz and I that we had to go with them a third time. I suggested to Lori that it is High School Musical for the over 50's. MaCall suggested that the sequel be called "Senior Year". Ha ha. That was funny. Okay, the singing is pretty terrible, the plot is lacking, but it is totally camp and does get you hooked on the music. Lori was impressed that Meryl Streep could touch her toes - same age. Colin Firth, still my favourite.
We had a fun day at Point Lobos. I did get some painting done and took loads of pictures. On the way home we stopped at Camp Roberts to see the museum there and get permission to take photos of the derelict buildings. I love them. They are so ghostly. I did not realise that in 1944 Camp Roberts was the largest military training facility in the world. Franz's Granddad was there after the war, leading up to Korea.
Anyhow, Hamish was well. The garden mostly survived, but not all. Now we prepare for Eloise's birthday. Sadly all but one friend will be out of town for her party. She is pretty bummed about that and it is the first time MaCall won't be there. I think they are both sad about that. There were some tears on parting.

Sounds like a nice weekend but a sad farewell for the girls (but a very cool trip - I've never been to Budapest). Beautiful photos!
I love that photo of Cassie and Eloise, it's adorable! So I'm going to see you when you come up for MaCall, huh? Awesome. Happy Birthday, Ellie!
thanks i am excited for my party
Happy Birthday to Eloise! I remember when I turned 10, Serena said to me, "You'll never be a one digit age again." I always remembered that.
