Gasping in Gilroy

Hello all,

We are here in Gilroy, picked MaCall up from the airport on Wednesday night, along with the others. She had a great time, but I'll leave the travel log up to her to post on her site. I will say that she came home with a darling dirndle. I don't have any means of uploading photos here, so they will have to wait. In the mean time, we have been hanging out here. Our house and Hamish are being sat by the friends who lent us the car last fall. Their new house is without electricity or water (need electricity to pump the water from the well) so they were thrilled to use our shower, toilet and washing machine for a few days.

Have any of you seen Lars and The Real Girl? If not, I highly recommend it. It is a quality, humorous and poignant movie.

Everyone is quite grumpy today. I'm not sure why. I'm in a fine mood and I'm the one with all the night time adventures. The other night I had the window open a few inches - to the some fresh air in. I heard Lucy's collar jingle, opened my eyes in time to see her squeeze through and lunge to the darkness. I jumped out of bed saying " oh my gosh, oh my gosh" . I did not realize there was a wide ledge under neath. She landed on that and was exploring the few feet of shingle. I leaned out the unscreened window saying " Lucy, Lucy get back in here!" She like most cats ignored me. So, at one in the morning I was climbing out on the ledge in my jammies, grabbed her by the tail just as she was about to jump down to the driveway, reeled her in, while she had the nerve to growl at me!

Then last night. The house across the street seemed to be having some sort of party. By twelve it was getting quite out of hand, cars coming and going, people talking very loudly on the lawn. Eventually someone phoned the police. They came, van and car, put the spotlight on the house, but of course it was as dark and quiet as a foreclosure. They searched the bushes, pounded on the door and garage. They put some sort of notices on the double parked cars, waited about fifteen minutes then left. Two seconds after they left the garage door goes up, the front door opens, teen agers come in droves out of the darkness like cockroaches toward the house. I counted 43 come from the house, the cars are coming and going, the party is in full swing. Martin - the only other person awake phones the police. A half hour later they return, scan the bushes with their flood light, but to no avail. Those kids lay low very well. What I couldn't understand is why the first time the police left they didn't just do a drive around the corner, and catch them at the return?

So, that is my exciting summer. How are all of you?
