Party Hardy!

Here we go, trying to get ready. Doug leads the pack in pumpkin carving...

Here are the Hunters all decked out - Elias wore his costume for mmm, ten minutes?

Okay, I over did it on the pictures here, much as I have over done it on the eating today. Last night was our Halloween party and it was much fun. Unfortunately these photos are all out of order. I hate that.

We carved all but two of our garden grown pumpkins - just got to be too many. Here our neighbour joins in.

Guests came up with great costumes! This is Mr. Manookin. Elias was concerned about the spiders on him, though when asked to help get them off he immediately proclaimed, no.
The Manookins are one of those families I've been wanting to get to know. They are a very creative family, artists, writers, like old B Horror movies, don't really care what other people think about them.

Franz and Doug joined the religious.

Here Dave and Sherri - a nice couple that helped us move in- sport their cute costumes!

We did old fashioned doughnut bobbing. This is MaCall and her friend Cassie, Mat - from next door can't be seen. They were all good sports for being 13 and 14.

Here we have another round. Franz's friend Brett is on the horse, his wife Cindy is the princess. Scottish Death and trailer trash in the middle (Manookin kids), Addy and Eloise on the end.

Hunter and Potter adults went wild on this round as Franz kept pulling the line and bouncing the doughnuts. I might add, that I won. Must be for biggest mouth. Doug nearly lost a tooth...

Here is the Junior round - Addy was the winner. Neighbour Leeanne on the end.

Here is my bleeding grave yard cake. It was a yummy pumpkin cake with chocolate gnash and sugar cookie stones.

Here we have Eloise carving her pumpkin.

Below is the Morton Salt Girl - many Kudos to Jeni Shirley (in New Zealand) who sewed this amazing dress. It is even lined!

All in all it was great fun. A large crow gathered to watch an old Horror movie that friend Amelia watched - they were all making the captions themselves. Who needs sound? Later, another family - the Huffs, arrived and brought their guitar hero's, so we could plug in and do warring hero's. MaCall and their son Christian were awesome. After everyone left, except for Brett, who took his wife home, the returned, he and Franz stayed up till one in the morning playing wii football. I finally came out and told them it was time to quit as every time I fell asleep Franz would cackle and wake me up.
Nap time!

Now, that must have been an awesome gathering! Your pumpkin cake is certainly tempting, Serena. The costumes were wonderful, and very creative, especially Mr. Manoonkin's eerie attire. A well-planned party and obviously a success! It makes our Saturday evening of "Six Feet Under" episodes (with popcorn) seem bland.
Well done!

Such a fun looking party! We don't even have costumes for the kids yet. Or pumpkins. We did put up a few decorations though!

That looks like it was such a good time! I guess that's one of the advantages of living in Cali - you can throw a Halloween party outside! Today it was like 40 degrees for the high here. I remember many Halloweens of having to plan a costume that would fit over a jacket and snowpants!!
