Yesterday we went down the mountain for violin and lab work. Eloise chose to stay with me while I got my lab work done. We were the last ones there after closing, so she sat the in the chair opposite watching the phleobotomist suck ten vials out of my arm. Funny kid, if it had been an animal wincing in pain she would be in tears, but watching a human just leaves her fascinated. She told the phleobotomist that the blood was only blue in the veins and did not turn red till it made contact with oxygen. Then she wanted to know how they test the blood to see what is in there, asked about medical school, related internships to student teaching, and then confirmed that tuberculosis is the disease where you cough up blood - we were looking at the old hospital across the street in Redlands while waiting for Franz to pick us up. I need to find some good books for kids who are interested in medicine.
While sitting there waiting we saw three large raccoons cross under the street lamp and lumber down the side walk near the hedges. We did not know they would be down in Redlands. All in all it was eventful.

You have a cute haircut! And Eloise is a smart cookie, I remember her telling me about leukemia when she was seven.
I love medical forensic books. Medical examiner books. I bet there are some geared towards kids.
how are you feeling??
Not the most flattering of pics Serena! Did it leave you feeling better tho'?
Aren't there some books like the 'horrible histories' books which deal with things like medicine, for children. I'm sure I've seen some but can't for the life of me remember what they are called. Perhaps it'll come to me later.
Your hair looks cute! I've never seen it so short. We are going to SLC on Wed. (I think) Julio has TUes. off, but Marco has a Dr. visit in the morning and it's supposed to snow that day.
Gee, my hair was not exactly styled at that moment, but thanks!I am still not sure about the added layers around the front...
I have not been sleeping as much, but am in a lot of pain - mainly the joints in my hands and knees. Still exhausted. It took two days to make those cookies and this morning I find only three are left! I am pretty useless all day, then have a little energy after dinner.
I think you are beautiful Serena!! Even with that masque!! I hope your trip to Utah is just what you need.
