Putting Away Halloweeen

We did it! Eloise survived camp and I survived Halloween! She had a wonderful time at camp, of course the first thing she told us was a run down of the menu and how good the food was. The only downer was that her cabin counselor was a 40 year old mom who made them go to bed on time and shower every day (woo hoo!). She loved all of the hikes and really enjoyed the visitor from the zoo in Big Bear - who brought lots of animals to share.

Halloween, we picked up Eloise, made a few stops down in San Bernardino then went to Menifee to trick or treat with the Jackman's. Oh, we also made a trip to the new Super Target there, so the girls could spend their Halloween money - (thanks to you who sent it!). Eloise spread hers out, on speakers for her ipod , only $5 and they actually work, a necklace, slinky and I'm not sure what else. MaCall being sensible, purchased a cool skinny sweat shirt that says "We the people" on it. Then with her own money (she now teaches violin to a girl in the ward), she bought much needed (NOT) skinny jeans. I swear she has a jeans obsession.

Oh, MaCall and I also had hair cuts. Many months back Delany had hers cut by this stylist at a cheap, Great Clips, and he did a really good job, so we took a chance to see if he was there and he was! What are the chances? When we walked in there was only one girl to be seen and I tried to ask if he were there, not knowing his name and not wanting to say, you know, the guy with the eye liner and many earrings. Just then he walks out and I shout "you! We want you!". I'm pretty sure he thought we were crazy, but still gave great cuts. MaCall did notice that instead of eye liner he had mascara on. Cool, whatever. He knows hair.

Heidi took the better costume photos so I'll wait for hers. I though, did enjoy this photo of our caramel/candy apples, I also enjoyed eating them. They were so good! The special ingredient was cinnamon and brown sugar sprinkled on top of the optional nuts and toffee - of course white and milk chocolate.

Okay, now it is over and I am glad. Time to move on, get Obama elected and think Thanksgiving!

She made them shower every day? How traumatizing.

And jeans are one thing you can't have too many of. Good jeans are like good boyfriends: you have to go through a lot of bad ones to find the ones just perfect for you.

Interesting analogy.

Do the big nobs on this lay out bother anyone as much as me?

Camp is so awesome! Going to bed on time....well, as a parent I would be relieved but as a teenager that would be pretty mortifying!! Can't have everything either way, can we? It's great that your kids go to camp - I agree that it's a truly great experience for them. And also I think it's a good experience for parents to learn how to function as people who are more than parents, have one on one time with each of their children, and also take breaks.
