Such a relief - and now I am completely terrified!

Unfortunately, I'm surrounded by conservative ee majors all day at the university. I am so freaking tired of the whining and complaining and being made to feel like I should be ashamed of myself and it's only been one day. I've been putting on my headphones and trying to abstain from all political discussions, but it's hard not to say something sometimes. I have learned a lot about the people I see and interact with every day, though..

A tough day at the office with lots of nasty comments and offensive remarks from those around me, but that's no change from the past several months so I've become numb to most of it. Fortunately, I am there for only 2-3 hours a day and I have my iPod cranking out string quartets laced with lots of my favorite middle eastern music which irritates them as much as Obama's win. Sorry to see that intolerance wins out again with this Proposition 8, but at least we witnessed an historic moment as Obama was elected President.

I am surprised (well not really) at the two stark reactions...one of historic joy and the other fear and nasty comments. I've just had it with the other side....I can't say any more or my mouth will run over.

Michele, why are you terrified? I am very hopeful with Obama in office. The only thing I am terrified about is dealing with the conservative community that surrounds us.

Franz was in line at the post office and heard two guys talking - the one says, well I guess we will be eating nothing but soul food for the next four years. This is the mentality around us.
