The Next Day

After an hour long drive down the mountain with howling winds we arrived in Menifee. We are safe and that is the most important thing. The girls are having a good time with the cousins, though they are concerned about the house, their friends and the fire.

We are continually tuned into the news watching the progress of the Grass Fire. Below is the latest map of the area with the big red blob headed directly for our house, but we understand it is slowing....
Serena is doing well, though tired and wandering around with a worried expression. I am still teaching online which is difficult when there are other pressing matters. Anyhow, we are fine and still need a car.

I am glad you are here, even though it is not desirable circumstances for you. You stay as long as you need to! We love you guys and are keeping you in our prayers.

You all have been in our thoughts during this hard time. It's wonderful to have family so close by. We are glued to the news hoping for a turn for the better.

Thanks so much. It really helps knowing people are looking out for us. They did report large tanker drops all night above our area so at least they are trying. I do worry though about what the community will be like when the kids go back to school. Will there be any kids left in the classroom?

Glad to hear you're ok. Where does Heidi live? Grandma called to tell us you evacuated AND that she has a boyfriend. What?! Take care and we're praying for you.
