Keeping Warm

The storms have hit yet again. The snow is getting deep. What better to keep you warm than a bowl of Chicken Matzoball soup? My mom's step dad, Charlie Cohen, was Jewish and she picked up many a yummy taste from him - thick pastrami on rye sandwiches, Stewarts Cream Soda, a good dill pickle, and of course Matzos. As a toddler I used to sit in my high chair demanding "mo matzo bo soup". This surprised the neighbours, who thought we were thoroughly gentile.
Lucy has also figured out how to keep warm. She climbs up on top of the kitchen cupboards and sits in front of the heater vent - looking down at us like queen of the kitchen.

There will be no school tomorrow. Most of the teachers handed out extra homework today - predicting no school for the rest of the week. We have topped up on important things, like bagels, chocolate, canned soup and milk. We will probably stay put for a while. Driving is pretty scary up here and we do not have chains yet. Time to cuddle with a book.

Sounds nice! We've had sprinkles here - you know, fake California winter. Real snow - now that's winter.

About a foot so far, but it is still snowing and expect another few inches. We will post some pictures soon.

Snow is so much fun! But from what I hear the driving there is terrifying so be careful! Your Lucy looks just like my cat Sissy who now lives with my mother-in-law. Are all grey female cats complete queens?
