Citrus Historical State Park

Okay, Heidi got the gun on this one. So here are a few more pics from our Saturday at the Citrus State Park. It is really a pretty place, nice museum, gift shop, picnic areas, walking trails, roses, wisteria and plenty of fallen fruit to have snow ball fights - or orange fights. Poor Heidi "Darin, put the orange down! Drop it now. Darin, put down that orange!" She really has four boys. Arnold's new budget cuts include closing one in ten state parks. So see them while you can, next year they may be closed.

The orange groves smell so lovely! There are also interesting little birds for watching - Michele...
There are so many different sorts of citrus, that after visiting you will want to try them all. Perhaps not the strange one with all the fingers...
So, did any of you watch MY BOY JACK on Masterpiece Theatre last night? It was really good - made me cry - but a good change from Austen, which never makes me cry. I also thought it was interesting that in the making of -afterwards - they were likening it to our current war and that when a son or daughter is killed it affects an entire family for generations. I don't think we are in touch with the families that are being affected in this war. Do you know who they are?

Once, when I was living down south and it was dinner time, Heidi looked at me in exasperation and said, "I have five children." This was before Luke's time, and I was doing mental calculations before I figured out that she was including me in the category.

I didn't mean to offend you. I remember it because I thought it was funny.

What a fun outing. I think outings will be even more fun for us in another year when the boys are a little older.
